Assistant Brand Manager
Location: Mississauga, ON Canada
Job Type: Full Time
The Assistant Brand Manager should be a highly motivated individual that has a passion for learning and expanding their capabilities. The individual should be able to multitask while having strong organizational skills. He/she will be expected to assist with planning and execution of a large number of Brand and Marketing initiatives in a timely manner.
-Assist Brand Manager in creation of Product Creative Briefs to ensure consistency in direction of product development
-Input data into necessary product and financial development on-going documents to track progress
-Assist Brand Manager in product detail document review process for licensor submissions
-Assist in strategic marketing plans, product launch strategies
-Information flow to sales and financial group – marketing forecasts & marketing budgets
-Tracking category trends and retail environments
-Working closely with our HK office/PD/ engineers in giving direction on development of brands.
-Assist in reviewing inventor opportunities to consider new product lines
-Help to deliver the monthly marketing update to the company
-Manage end-consumer research/ focus groups or market tests
-Manage the flow of samples required to trade shows, commercial shoots and PR activities
-Trade Show Preparation and Planning
-Secure merchandising teams, and coordinate all in-store Merchandising initiatives
-Assist with updating company/brand websites
-Assist in development of in-store, online, TV, print marketing and advertising materials and campaigns.
-Developing and executing media plans
-Website / Catalogue Maintenance
-Market research: contribute and support product research and creative strategy, new product development positioning; identifying features and benefits and packaging; product naming and branding; competitor analysis, end-consumer research, retailer study; involved in strategic marketing promotions; and, trade event design, planning, coordination, and management.
-PR / Marketing: Work with Brand Manager and research media / magazines / and all other industry related publications and keep on top of all relevant toy tests for new Product Development; submit samples for different toy testing (reviews / certification / vendor requirements / and Industry Awards); assist in the planning and execution of Retail specific events and grassroots promotions; interface closely with Advertising partners with direction from Brand Manager and Director of Marketing.
-Creation and updating of company brand presentations and assets as well as distribution to key customers.
-Development of presentation materials for use by the sale team in making presentations to trade.
-Assist customer service team in handling customer feedback/concerns during busy season.
Shipment of company samples and materials to key customers and decision makers
Required Skills and Competencies
-College/Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
-2 or more years of marketing and brand experience
-Efficient in creating excellent brand presentations
-Competence with PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, and both PC and Mac OS systems
-Demonstrated organization, planning and communication skills
